
Fresh news for Nokia phone fans. Nokia has finally announced the release date for its new Nokia N96 mobile phone. The handset will be released in the UK on Wednesday, 1st October 2008 via 3, Carphone Warehouse, Orange, Phones4U, T-Mobile and Vodafone. In case you didn’t know, the mobile phone provides a 2.8 inch LCD display, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, a cool 5MP camera, 16GB flash memory, and DVB-H tuner. The N96 also sports for MPEG 4, Windows Media Video and Flash video formats.

NTT DoCoMo is going to release LG’s 3G handset Wine Phone a.k.a L706ie in Japan market, which will be available on August 1st.Designed for 30~40-year old customers, the Wine Phone enlarged both external and internal monitors up to 2.4- and 1.8-inch respectively.
Enhanced voice calling and SMS sending and receiving functionality, it supports four key buttons directly practicing frequent menu such as alarm, schedule, voice recording and condition setting.
Optimized for the use in the Japan market respectively, it comes in three different colors such as white, gold, and pink.

Motorola has announced that U9 clamshell phone for the first time in the US. The phone allows users to easily sync music from their PCs via Windows Media Player and a USB 2.0 connection. Navigating tracks with the phone closed is made possible through an external OLED display, which is paired with touch-sensitive controls. When music is not playing, users can pick from a variety of screensavers. The U9’s 25MB of integrated memory can be expanded by up to 4GB through an optional microSD card. Supported audio formats include WMA v10, Janus DRM, MP3, AAC, AAC+ and AAC+ enhanced. Music is delivered via the U9’s stereo speaker, optional wired headphones, or Bluetooth-capable wireless headphones or headsets. The speaker also reads out the numbers users are dialing or the names or numbers of incoming calls.
Other features include a 2.0-megapixel camera with 8x zoom and video capture capabilities, and support for push e-mail. The main display is a two-inch TFT, with 320×240 (QVGA) resolution and 262,000 colors.
Unlocked by default, the U9 can be used on AT&T or T-Mobile’s GSM network, and is selling for $276. Motorola promises to soon add pink and purple versions to the lineup.

T-Mobile is preparing to unveil its nation-wide 3G network on October 1st, according to a poster that reveals a selection of major US cities to first receive the service. While members of the community previously tossed around the date, the poster confirms that users in Los Angeles, as Vegas, Dallas, New Jersey, Washington, and 21 other cities will be able to use 3G-capable T-Mobile devices with the network’s faster transfer rates and superior call quality.

The WiFi factor is still mysteriously missing in the list of connectivity options but users should be able to make do with Bluetooth 2.0 and USB connections. There is a music player which plays the usual audio formats, an FM stereo radio, and a media player capable of playing MP4, H.263, and H.264 videos on its 2.4-inch QVGA display. Nokia could also have included a 3.5mm headphone jack, but that seems to be limited to its high-end models and the XpressMusic line for now. The Nokia site also says the phone can be used in “Portrait or Landscape modes,” so we wouldn’t be surprised is there is an accelerometer hiding in there.

The Nokia 6210 Navigator is available all over India and although no information about the price is provided, we could venture a guess that it would be not more than Rs. 18000 (about $430).

T-Mobile on Tuesday unveiled a new version of the Sidekick, and with it, a completely customizable shell design, which users can choose from a number of pre-designed colors and templates, or create their very own personalized device. Available by default in black or green, the Sidekick can be detailed with personal photos or graphic art, as well as a host of text, shapes, icons, and logos.
In addition, the new Sidekick supports Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, and comes with a two-megapixel camera, 512MB of microSD storage, and a wide 2.6-inch display with a 400×240 resolution similar to that of the earlier Sidekick LX.
Spanish-language users will be interested to know that the device features an integrated Spanish interface, which can be switched to through the Sidekick’s menu system.
The T-Mobile Sidekick is available starting today in select stores and online for $150 with a two-year contract and $300 while contract-free.
HTC is going to launch its smartphone ‘Touch Diamond’ in Korea market, which features its new 3D touch interface called TouchFLO.
Adopting a 2.8-inch VGA touchscreen and 3.2M built-in camera, the Touch Diamond delivers an entirely new mobile Internet experience that utilizes broadband-like speeds with HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA wireless connectivity.Other features included Mobile OS 6.1, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, GPS function and more.

E Ink announced that Casio Hitachi Mobile Communications in Japan has selected E Ink Vizplex Imaging Film based displays for its newest family of mobile phones. CH-Mobile is planning on several product releases. These are the world’s first clamshell style mobile phones to use E Ink’s electronic paper technology on the outside.
The current model is the Hitachi W61H and it features a 2.7″ screen that scrolls through several animated images when you receive a call, message or when the phone is opened. The Casio G’zOne model will launch soon, though as with the Hitachi, it will only be available in Japan.
Pantech has presented its dual-sliding in Mexico through Telcel, Mexico’s largest mobile phone carrier.The Pantech duo features unique design that lets users have both qwerty keyboard and general numeric keypad depending on the way they slide the phone.
