In Nanjing Nokia unveiled the Nokia 6208c, a new pen input device which caters for a number of different customers, specifically those in China. Nokia 6208c will be commercially available starting the first half of 2009. Its price was not announced.

Available only in Korea,the CDMA slider boasts a 2.6-inch LCD, and a keypad using the company’s new “Glide Sensor” technology which it says operates like a laptop trackpad.It’s not clear where this will be available outside of Korea, but it should work on most places in the United States, Japan, China, and Southeast Asia as a fine CDMA phone. Available colors are white, pink, and blue.

Nokia 6208c is the first touchscreen phone with a built-in keypad. And now the handset has been displayed on the Chinese site of Nokia. It will support Nokia’s S40 OS and it will have both the full alphanumeric keypad and a 2.4 inch touschreen display. We don’t know if it’s a capacitive or resistive screen but the stylus present will suggest it’s a resistive one.

Other specs include tri-band EGSM 900/1800/1900, Bluetooth 2.0, support for tethering, a 3.2 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom and dual-LED flash and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The phone will be available in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, India, the Middle East and North Africa but the price hasn’t been revealed yet

In anticipation of New Year celebrations Philips presented a special version of the popular mobile phone Philips Xenium 9 @ 9q.The special edition Xenium 9@9q mobiles — dubbed Dragon and Phoenix — both feature rather snazzy designs and can reportedly last up to a month in standby mode. The most fantastic aspect is probably the subtle light-up indicators on the outside of the clamshell, and yes, we’re serious. Still, a phone with such longevity might actually be worth $172.

LG planned to present its new LG GD910 watch phone in the coming CES 2009 events. The GD910 is one of the first 3G watch phones, supporting 7.2 Mbps HSDPA wireless data connection with a secondary video camera for video calls. With the helps of the touch UI, user input can be done through the watch phone’s touch screen. It can also do speech recognition for input via voice. Detail specification is not available except a 13.9mm body thickness, LG will be first launching the watch phone in Europe with an unknown schedule.
