 AT&T Releases Social Net Application

AT&T today announced the availability of AT&T Social Net, a free mobile social networking application that combines access to Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and customizable news feeds within a single application.

Customers can download AT&T Social Net at no cost in the AT&T MEdia Mall, accessible directly from handsets and online at www.att.com/mediamall. AT&T customers can check to see if their devices are compatible by accessing www.att.com/socialnetdevices.

Orange LG GD910 Watch Phone Video Demo

UK carrier Orange prepare to launch the LG GD910 3G watch mobile phone in August. Recently, the company releases a video demo of the GD910. As you will see in the video after the break, LG’s watch phone is able to do a two-way video conversation.

Other features of the watch phone include a 1.43-inch touchscreen, built-in media player, support for Bluetooth and HSDPA 3.5H 7.2Mbps.

HTC Touch Pro2 officially announced by T-Mobile USA

T-Mobile USA has announced the upcoming availability of HTC Touch Pro2, which will be on sale via the fourth largest US carrier starting August 12.The HTC Touch Pro2 is powered by HTC’s TouchFLO 3D interface, has a sliding QWERTY keyboard, 3.2 megapixel camera, bluetooth, WiFi and built in GPS. The device is ship with Windows Mobile 6.1, though, it is not sure if Windows Mobile 6.5 upgrade is included in the future.

LG Wine 3G will be launched in Korea in September, via SK Telecom, KTF and LG Telecom.There are no further details about the upcoming device, but, since the previous Wine phones were targeted at middle-aged and older customers, we should expect the new one to be made for them as well.

VTech’s already teamed up with T-Mobile for the carrier’s landline-friendly @Home service, and it looks like it now also has a slightly different solution of its own for folks using both a landline and a cellphone. Two cellphones can also be connected to the LS6245 at the same time, and when one calls, users can answer it on the home phone. The handset has a built-in speakerphone of its own. The handset and base station use touch-sensitive buttons for a sleek look, with either also featuring a reverse LED screen for displaying information. Users can also choose from 18 musical ringtones.

The LS6245 is now available online and at Best Buy stores, priced at nearly $80, while an add-on handset with charging base, the LS6204, can be had for $45.

Best Buy stores are currently offering the Sprint Palm Pre for $99.99 after new 2 year agreement or qualified upgrade without rebate requirements.

Update: Best Buy marketing manager John Bernier has chimed in via his Twitter account to say that the Pre is $199 and that the “error is being corrected.” It’ll be interesting to see if any lucky customers managed to nab the device for less than a Benjamin.

RIM has officially announced the BlackBerry Curve 8520, the successor to the venerable 8320 for T-Mobile and will be available from August 5th for $129.99 on a two-year agreement.The featureset is otherwise identical to the internal employee documentation reported on last week with access to BlackBerry App World along with Wi-Fi radio for UMA access, redesigned QWERTY keyboard, quadband GSM/EDGE data, microSDHC expansion slot, speakerphone, external media player controls, Bluetooth with stereo audio support, 3.5mm headphone jack and 2.0 megapixel camera with video recorder.
