Palm-Pre-And-Pixi-Plus-webOS-1.4.5-Update-News

There is finally some good news for the owners of the Verizon locked Palm Pixi Plus as Big Red is rolling out the highly anticipated webOS update 1.4.5. Some of the owners of the Palm Pixi Plus from Big Red across the country have already started receiving the update which comes up with a number of bug fixes and the addition of PDK support.

Even Palm has the details of the firmware upgrade listed on its website and that is how we came to know about the pleasing gaming titles this update will add to the webOS laden handset. While the update will surely please the gaming fanatics, the Pre Plus owners also using VZW services will be a tad annoyed.

The reason is that the update is only going public for the Pixi Plus subscribers and the Pre Plus is arguably being ignored for now. The Pre Plus is also sold through AT&T in the US and even the AT&T subscribers will have to wait desperately for the update 1.4.5 without any clue about the arrival date.via devicenation

Sony Unveils Pressure-Sensitive Tactile Touchscreen, Promises to Commercialize it for Cell Phones

Sony-Pressure Sensitive Tactile Touchscreen-Prototype

Samsung is definitely upbeat about the presence of its Super AMOLED touchscreen in the Galaxy S (that also features the pacier Hummingbird processor) and this success story is making Sony restless in its labs. Sony has readied and unveiled a prototype of its pressure-sensitive tactile touchscreen which promises to take touch sensitivity a step ahead.

The prototype demoed was an LCD touchscreen with force sensing resistors and piezoelectric actuators those could sense how much pressure is being applied and vibrate the panel accordingly. It is a Cover-face like interface can shuffle icons faster when more pressure is applied and vice-versa.

The prototype was merely demoed and no one actually got a chance to lay their hands on it, but Sony did take care of the disappointment by announcing its commercialization plans.

Sony intends to make this technology usable for cellphones at the earliest despite the fact that the applied pressure technology is in the prototype stage.

Blurry Motorola Droid II Image Leaked?

Posted Wednesday, June 9th, 2010 by John

The first edition of the Droid got mixed reactions across the world with a US specific version doing particularly well while the one received in the UK wasn’t a success. The next edition of the phone is eagerly awaited with more Android goodness and as gossip hounds prepare to talk about the specs, the first blurred image of the Droid successor has already surfaced on the web.

Droid II Leaked Image

The model snapped in particular is listed as Motorola A955 while in the filing documents it was spotted alongside the Xtreme which is known with other names such as the Shadow and the ‘X’ in different places. This clearly implies that the Droid II and the Droid Xtreme are well and truly different devices.
