Motorola Droid X Spotted Running a Customized Sapphire ROM
Posted Monday, August 30th, 2010 by MobileGeekThis seems a great day for the possessors of the Motorola Droid X from Verizon and there isn’t much explaining to do here as to why I feel so. That Blue Sapphire logo on the Motorola Droid X implies that the VZW locked handset can be rooted to run on Android 2.2, Sapphire AOSP 2.2 ROM.

The root did happen, but apparently the problem is that the Droid X cannot be loaded with a custom ROM as Motorola has ensured a better level of security this time around.
For the moment then, we will just have to be content with this achievement hoping that the ‘magical’ guys to do this will soon get the instruction set and stable build ready at the earliest.
