Samsung has only just introduced the T*Omnia in its home country but may already be enroute to the US within a matter of weeks, a claim from BusinessWeek. Samsung is negotiating with a U.S. carrier with an aim to roll out the phone in America by the end of this month. But it is not clear wether U.S. consumers will have access to the upgraded phone or its old version, which has a slightly smaller touch screen with lower resolution. The new version has a 3.3-inch LCD (versus a 3.2-inch screen) with a much higher 800X480 resolution (versus the earlier 400X200).

Nokia introduced a range of affordable mobile devices and innovative new services specifically for people in emerging markets. Estimated retail prices of the new devices range from 25 to 90 EUR, with several models expected to begin shipping in 2008. Nokia’s suite of Internet services for emerging markets will be available beginning in 2009.
Nokia 5130 XpressMusic, the most affordable Nokia music phone to date, has a 3.5 mm headset jack, music player with dedicated keys, FM radio, a 2MP camera, Share on Ovi and Mail on Ovi. The 5130 XpressMusic will be on sale starting the first quarter of 2009 for a retail price of around €90 ($115).

Nokia 7100 Supernova is the cheapest Supernova phone to date. It comes with a “large, high resolution color screen”, a 1.3 MP camera, FM radio, web browser, Share on Ovi and Mail on Ovi.
