Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 Review and Pictures

Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 has always been in the news even before it was launched when a few unofficial shots were leaked online. Undoubtedly, like any other Sony Ericsson mobile phones, this one too doesn’t fall short of the promises and delivers a class act with all its stunning features and breath-taking looks.

With so much of features loaded inside, Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 is sure to make its presence feel in the market. Most of the mobile reviews about Xperia X2 may simply boasts of the features packed inside, but that’s true. Sony Ericsson has tried to do something different here by launching the first Windows mobile smartphone that has an 8 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash to it and has a full QWERTY keypad.

When we first take a look at Sony Ericsson Xperia X2, we might have a misconception that since it has a side-slider feature, it might be bulky, but astonishingly Sony Ericsson has tried to cut down on the size and weight and keep it on same lines as Xperia X1. Xperia X2 comes out in the market in two distinctive colors, black and silver. Since it has been made for the business class audience loads of connectivity options are packed inside that we will talk about later.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 uses Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional and it gives out a fairly good performances keeping up to the standards of Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. The front panel of the Xperia X2 is taken by the large 3.2 inches screen, while the back is made up of stainless steel that is not fingerprint resistant.

Though the 4-row QWERTY keyboard is very different from that of Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, the functions of the controls and keys are the same.  The shape of the keys is impressive but the use of plastic does not go well with the looks and hampers the overall appearance.

The right side of Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 handles volume control and camera shutter key. On the left side it has a battery cover release knob and microUSB.

Since Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 is more of a connectivity device, it has more features like 3G HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, microUSB port, GPS receiver with A-GPS, and TV out. It also has features like 110 MB storage, 256 MB  RAM, 512 MB ROM, Optical trackpad, accelerometer for motion-based games, office document viewer and editor, Xvid support.
