Colorful and powerful,Nokia has launched the N79 with the same support for US 3G.The N79 features quadband GSM/EDGE support and dual-band W-CDMA access with HSPA high speed data, interchangeable XpressOn rear covers that trigger different user interface themes on the device, accelerometer for changing screen orientation and motion control, a 5.0 megapixel CCD camera with Carl Zeiss branded optics along with dual LED flash and light for video recording.

The phone also features a microSDHC expansion slot with support for 16GB cards, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR with stereo audio support,  Symbian Series 60 with Feature Pack 2, 3.5mm headphone jack, TV output, speakerphone, FM transmitter, N-Gage games support, Wi-Fi radio, and A-GPS support through Nokia Maps.

The phone is now available from Nokia for $455.00 or from Amazon for $401.99,  with the caveat that Amazon is temporarily out of stock with shipping beginning after December 24th.

Apple to sell a $99 4GB iPhone at Walmart?

Today, a new report from Boy Genius Report claims that Apple may be reintroducing the 4GB iPhone to be sold at Wal-Mart for only $99 with a two year contract. we all know Apple dropped the 4GB iPhone from its initial line-up, but that was at a $399 price-point. 4GB is certainly enough for some songs and short music videos, but let’s not kid ourselves.

T-Mobile Expands 3G Coverage and Plans Further Expansion

T-Mobile has announced the expansion of its 3G service footprint in 13 more markets since the official launch of the network on May 1st.Customers in Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, Minneapolis, New York (including northern New Jersey and Long Island), Phoenix, Portland, San Antonio and San Diego can now take advantage of the higher speeds offered by the UMTS/HSDPA enabled network if they own the Samsung T819, Nokia 6263, Nokia 3555, Samsung T639, or the recently released Sony Ericsson TM506.

T-Mobile has also pledged further expansion to Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Orlando, Philadelphia, Sacramento, San Francisco and Seattle by mid-October with six additional markets in Birmingham, Denver, Detroit, Kansas City, Memphis and Tampa going live by the end of the year, with further expansion during 2009.

T-Mobile is preparing to unveil its nation-wide 3G network on October 1st, according to a poster that reveals a selection of major US cities to first receive the service. While members of the community previously tossed around the date, the poster confirms that users in Los Angeles, as Vegas, Dallas, New Jersey, Washington, and 21 other cities will be able to use 3G-capable T-Mobile devices with the network’s faster transfer rates and superior call quality.

Known as the BenQ E55, the phone offers 3G data connection and comes jam packed with a 2MP camera, the secondary video call camera at the middle of the clamshell hinge, a 1-inch 64k colors CSTN external screen with 96 x 64 resolution, and the internal 2-inch TFT screen that supports 262k colors.
