HTC Hero Android Smartphone

HTC officially announced the Hero that is the company’s third Android smartphone (the G3). Like the Magic (G2), the Hero is boosted by Qualcomm MSM7200A 528 MHz processor. The Hero has a 3.2-inch 320×480 touchscreen LCD display, a trackball with enter button, a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera and integrated GPS receiver. It supports Both Bluetooth 2.0+EDR/A2DP and WiFi 802.11b/g connectivity. The smartphone packs also G-sensor, microSD/SDHC card slot and digital compass.

HTC Hero’s media player supports MP3, AAC(AAC, AAC+, AAC-LC), AMR-NB, WAV, MIDI and WMA9 audio files and MPEG-4, H.263, H.264, WMV9 video formats.

Hero will be released in Europe in July, Asia in Summer and N. America later this year.

T-Mobile USA today announced the national availability of the T-Mobile G1, the first Android-powered mobile phone. The T-Mobile G1 combines full touch-screen functionality and a QWERTY keyboard with a rich mobile Web experience, dozens of Android Market applications, and popular Google products that  including Google Maps Street View, Gmail, YouTube and others. Beginning today, consumers can purchase the phone in select retail stores across the country and online at http://www.T-MobileG1.com.

T-Mobile has set up a website with a 360 degrees view of the T-Mobile G1, including the QWERTY keyboard view. There is also an online emulator where you can simulate activities like incoming calls, incoming SMS/MMS messages, incoming email and incoming instant message. Click here to access the online site.

T-Mobile today announced the launch of the world’s first Android-powered mobile phone in partnership with Google. Available soon for T-Mobile customers spanning two continents, the T-Mobile G1 combines full touch-screen functionality and a QWERTY keyboard with a mobile Web experience that includes the Google Maps Street View, Gmail, YouTube and others.The device will be available at select T-Mobile retail stores and online in the U.S. beginning Oct. 22, for a price of $179 with a two-year voice and data agreement. The T-Mobile G1 will also be available in the United Kingdom beginning in November, and across Europe in the first quarter of 2009. Countries include Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and the Netherlands.
