Posted Monday, August 30th, 2010 by MobileGeek

We just mentioned a couple of days back that the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy S, Samsung Fascinate, will be available for pre-order on Best Buy beginning August 29 and Best Buy seemingly hasn’t disappointed us and the Big Red Fascinate hopefuls as well. Fascinate is indeed available for in-store pre-oder which just confirms the belief that the release is ever so near.

The grapevine is that Verizon will not hold back the Fascinate availability after September 9 which means that the long wait is finally coming to an end. It will also be a personal landmark for Samsung as the Fascinate availability will imply that the four big US carriers are all selling the Samsung flagship Android handset.

Verizon Samsung Fascinate Best Buy Pre-Oders Begin August 29

With all the other variants of the Samsung Galaxy S outed by their respective US carriers, the Fascinate from Verizon remains the only device which is yet to go public. It now appears that the release date is getting closer as Best Buy has announced the Fascinate pre-order date for August 29. Best Buy members who belong to the Reward Zone can pre-order the device beginning today.

There is every chance that the Fascinate fanatics from Big Red could get to lay their hands on the Galaxy S variant sometime in the first week of September, though Verizon is yet to endorse this probability.

Just to refresh your memories, the Fascinate is a Galaxy S variant blessed with stunning features like a Super AMOLED screen, 1GHz processor and Google’s very own Android Eclair OS.

Samsung Wave S8500 Bada Laden Handset Reaches Vodafone UK Customers

Posted Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010 by John

Every big smartphone manufacturer is dreaming of doing what Apple and Android have done so effectively- to develop a custom OS for which developers will come up with their paid and free apps. Bada is one such version developed by Samsung for which it even intends to open an app store and the first bada laden handset, Wave S8500, has finally reached the customer hands in the UK, Courtesy Vodafone.

The Vodafone UK customers who had pre-ordered the Bada running Wave have started receiving their orders beginning June 1, 2010. If you go by the numbers, Samsung intends to sell around 20 million units of this handset around the world by the end of next year.

Those numbers are surely ambitious but for Samsung to achieve those, the Bada app store will have to come up very quickly. What is even more important than opening the application stores is that the Bada laden Wave should receive rave reviews from people who choose to use it upfront.[Courtesy: MobileCrunch and Nokia Phones]

The members present at the Android and Me had a great time getting acquainted with other members on their sojourn through CTIA and MotoDev Summit. To be very specific, there were three people with whom they spoke. One of them is a Sprint developer who claimed the first 4G or the WiMAX. Next person was the Samsung executive who intimated them not to expect the Android 2.0 “Eclair” until Q2 2010.

And our third individual is the head employee of INQ who wants their handsets to make way to the US markets by 2010. What we understand is that this year you cannot expect the LG android phone, the Tom Tom app, Google Maps navigation software. There are many such rumors from the Android which we cannot digest. Let us look forward to a good future with better android phones.
